”Figuratively Seen” , my first Solo Show, really pushed me to want to create beyond my comfort zone. This show displays my transition as an artist from a literal, to a metaphorical interaction. Since my background is in architecture, my love and appreciation for the structural frames on houses, buildings is shown through my linear choice and devotion to color, you will see huge contribution to them. But lately I have been on another journey as an artist to stretch my normality. You will see this transition in my figures, leading down to my last painting, Untitled (self portrait), which displays my blurred perception of not being black enough and not being white enough.
This show will be up till February 28th at the First Coast Cultural Center.
