Materials Exploration with Watercolor, Pastel, Watercolor Pencil and Modeling Paste at CUMMER MUSEUM

  • Cummer Museum 829 Riverside Avenue Jacksonville, FL, 32204 United States (map)

I am so excited to offer this class. Lately a lot of what I do is includes watercolor, pastel, and watercolor pencils. I am happy that I get to share my exploration of these materials with you.

For this workshop, we will use watercolor as a start to explore these materials and then we will create a landscape from these materials. I will show you different techniques to use each materials before we create our very own painting.

We will be starting with watercolor first, then we will add the dry mediums, pastels and watercolor pencils, to help create different layers and textures. The cool thing about these materials is they can be added to wet watercolor. Next, we will add molding paste to form different shapes on your paper with a palette knife. We will create a landscape image using all these materials and I will show you how to do  it.

I love creating with these materials because there is no limit to what you can do since they all work well together. I love to create little abstracts or landscapes.

This workshop is to help you learn how to use these materials to explore watercolor, and use these tools to create your own art for future projects. Let’s explore these materials together.

All supplies will be provided. Beginners Welcome!!!
